Kurt Hentschlaeger und Ulf Langheinrich have been working together as GRANULAR SYNTHESIS since 1991.

GRANULAR SYNTHESIS are pioneers of new applications of audiovisual media, investigating the relationship between the human/organic and the machine/artificial.

Technology is used as an intuitive music-instrument that transforms video-recordings of human motion. The resulting performances have been described as symphonic, produced by “electronic emotion machines that surround the audience, overwhelm the senses, attack and touch”.
